With Attractions Galore, The City Of Stillwater, Minnesota Is Perfect For A Family Getaway
Stillwater is well-known for its location on the St. Croix River, its lively downtown, and its history, which makes it a perfect getaway for any adult. But what if you are visiting the “Birthplace of Minnesota” with kids in tow and looking for family attractions? While they may not be dazzled by the eateries and historic streets, there are several fun, kid-friendly things to do in Stillwater. Check out these four attractions with your little ones.
Although there are several parks within Washington County, there is only one Teddy Bear Park. The park features various teddy bears throughout, just waiting for kids to climb on and cuddle with.
But what is sure to be a great time for the little ones is the one-hour-long Storytime Trolley, which runs seasonally on Saturdays from June to October.
Kids will board "Dolley the Trolley" and be treated to a book reading as well as a token for a free snack from Candyland as the trolley makes its way to Pioneer Park.

Speaking of Candyland…. One of three shops in Minnesota that date back to 1932, this store is the perfect place to get a treat or two for the little ones (and the big ones!).
Children will be in awe of the fantastic assortment of goodies–both new and old-fashioned–like hard and soft candies, popcorn, sours, jellies, and homemade chocolates.
While here, don’t forget to check out (and photograph!) the life-size Linus and Snoopy statues outside.

Other fun family attractions in Stillwater include renting out a BierCycle, walking across the Historic Lift Bridge, boating on the St. Croix River, hot air balloon rides, Pioneer Park, and so much more.
