Take A Thrilling Flight On The John Ball Zoo Zipline In Michigan

Remember how fun it was to go to the zoo as a kid? We’d walk around and marvel at all of the animals, always making a beeline for our favorites first. The zoo also meant plenty of goodies from the snack bar. Relive some of that fun with your own kiddos on your next trip to the zoo. However, take that fun to the next level with an epic ride on this zipline in Michigan. The John Ball Zoo zipline is a totally unique way to experience a day out and about with the family, and you’re definitely going to love the views from up here! John Ball Zoo, in Grand Rapids, provides the perfect backdrop for a day out with the whole family. Stroll through the 140-acre zoo, home to more than 2,000 animals.

Bald eagles, red pandas, primates, dart frogs, and more. When you're ready for a hearty dose of heart-stopping action, make your way to the zipline, tucked in the North West Region.

Before you buckle in to the zipline, ensure all kiddos who want to fly are at least 65 pounds and 48 inches tall. The zipline also requires that all guests wear "closed back shoes" and shorts or pants.

Flip flops, dresses, and skirts are prohibited. You'll also have to take everything out of your pockets and leave your smartphone on the ground.

Ready? The zipline will take you four stories above the zoo, providing sweeping views of the red pandas.

Soak up every moment of your adventure then, if you like playing among the trees, head over to the ropes course.

The ropes course will keep you four stories above the zoo as you work your way through 15 different obstacles. It's just one of the many fun things to do at John Ball Zoo!

You'll also find the Funicula, which takes guests all the way to the top of the zoo with a breathtaking view of Downtown Grand Rapids.

This unique zoo zipline in Michigan is open to both zoo members and non-members alike, but with different pricing.

The zipline at John Ball Zoo is open seasonally, typically April through early fall.
