1. Takes a boat tour at Pictured Rocks.
There’s nothing quite as stunning as a ride alongside the colorful streaked cliffs of Pictured Rocks. Every Michigander simply must experience this natural beauty during their lifetime.
2. Walks across the Mackinac Bridge.
Once a year, on Labor Day, our beloved Mighty Mac opens to pedestrians. It’s a genuinely unique adventure that will fill you with excitement and Michigan pride.
3. Attends a Tigers game.
There’s nothing more quintessentially American than a baseball game, and Michiganders know that Comerica Park is the place to be when you’re looking for an awesome day out in Detroit.
4. Eats a pasty.
Some might argue that you haven’t truly lived until you’ve bitten into a delectable pasty. What better way to satisfy your hunger than with a taste of this Michigan classic?
5. Checks out Tulip Time.
The Tulip Time Festival in Holland is an absolute must for visitors and Michiganders alike. At least once, every Michigan resident should enjoy this display of Dutch dancing, gorgeous tulips, and fun parades.
6. Enjoys a sandwich at Zingerman’s in Ann Arbor.
Few sandwiches shops in the Great Lakes State are quite as delectable as Zingerman’s, and this is one menu that must be seen to be believed. There’s truly something here for each and every Michigander.
7. Spends a weekend at a lakeside cottage.
All Michiganders know that there’s nothing quite like a trip “Up North.” Whether you’re settled into your cottage on Silver Lake, Crystal Lake, or directly on one of our Great Lakes, you’ll be charmed.

10. Runs down the dunes at Sleeping Bear.
If they’re physically able, every Michigander simply must give this extreme dune run a try. You’ll fly down the side of this stunning overlook and dip your toes in the blue waters of Lake Michigan. Just be prepared for a long walk back up!
11. Goes to a game at the Big House.
Regardless of which team you support, there’s something completely magical about walking into this massive stadium for the first time. Whether you’re rooting for the home team or stopping by for a Michigan/MSU showdown, you’ll be totally blown away by the sheer size of the Big House.
12. Admires the majesty of Tahquamenon Falls.
This is one natural wonder in Michigan that every Michigander simply cannot miss. It’s the perfect place to be overcome by the beauty of our state while basking in the quiet calm of the flowing waters.
