Are you ready to start planning for your wintertime adventures with loved ones? While many events might look a bit different than usual this year, that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy plenty of excitement throughout the coming weeks. One of Michigan’s most beloved events will continue this year with just a few tweaks – and you’ll want to bundle up to experience it all for yourself.
Frankenmuth is a beloved Michigan destination located in Saginaw County.
This one-of-a-kind town, which is known for its Bavarian-style architecture and many homages to its German roots, draws in countless visitors each year for shopping, dining, and more.
The town itself is decidedly small, housing a full-time population of under 6,000 residents. Don’t let its size fool you, though: this community is bursting with life, especially during winter.
Each year in January, Frankenmuth hosts its beloved Zehnder’s Snowfest celebration, which offers activities for the whole family to appreciate. Luckily for us, Snowfest will return this season.
At the heart of the festival, which is slated for January 29th-31st of 2021, is a series of massive snow sculptures and impressive ice carving displays throughout Frankenmuth.
While live entertainment and other activities will be limited this year due to safety guidelines, visitors can still check out snow-based creations around Bavarian Inn and Zehnder’s Restaurant.
There’s no telling what you’ll spot as you gaze upon these impressive sculptures and carvings, each of which is expertly crafted by talented artisans. It doesn’t get much cooler.
Whether you’re a longtime fan of Snowfest or a first-time visitor, one thing is for sure: viewing these incredible chilly-weather sculptures will create lasting family memories.
