3. We have some of the best places in the nation to retire.

4. Michigan is the birthplace of the modern automobile assembly line, a model in manufacturing that revolutionized the workforce.

7. And let's not forget Gerber baby food.

8. You can thank us for the modern traffic signal.

10. And while we may be home to insane weather, taxes, and crummy roads...

11. We make up for it with that Great Lakes beauty.
