Camping is a very popular recreational activity in Michigan, and you’ll find wonderful and distinctive campgrounds all over the state. To give you a few names, you might consider the Platte River Campground in Beulah, Catchin' Crickets Campground, also in Munising, and the Hurricane River Campground in Seney. There’s also one great for several generations called the Chapel in the Pines Family Campground over in the town of Hudsonville.

What is a good place to go for a long weekend getaway in Michigan?

If you really want to get away from it all, Michigan offers numerous relaxing weekend getaway options. Each one offers its own unique aspects that attract folks from not only Michigan but surrounding states as well. For example, there are wonderful art and culture exploration spots in Ann Arbor, beachfront areas and tulip gardens in Holland, and taste-tempting breweries and eateries in Grand Rapids, just to name a few Great Lakes State places.

Where can I go hiking in Michigan?

Hiking is another very popular activity in Michigan. And with so much natural beauty everywhere you look, you’re bound to find more than a few amazing hiking trails. One of the most popular is the Empire Bluff Trail. Located at the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, this trail offers spectacular views of Lake Michigan as you trod along the 1.6-mile path. Over at the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, you’ll find the Chapel Trail/Mosquito Falls Loop. This trail leads to a beautiful waterfall and it is dog-friendly as well.
