The Michigan Zoo That Comes To Life With Holiday Spirit Every Winter
During the holiday season, everything seems to sparkle with excitement and cheer. Whether you’re perusing your town’s Main Street or heading out to the mall, Christmas lights are everywhere throughout the month of December. But did you know that you can even appreciate the holiday spirit in the most unexpected of places? That’s right: head to the zoo this winter for a one-of-a-kind Christmas outing.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. The Binder Park Zoo is located at 7400 Division Drive in Battle Creek.
The zoo closes for the season when temperatures drop, but Michiganders have the unique opportunity to explore Binder Park each winter during its ZooLights event.
That’s right: as you and your loved ones prepare for the holidays, you can venture out to the zoo and explore a true winter wonderland among the lights and animals.
This year, ZooLights will take place from December 15-23rd. From 5-8:30 PM, the zoo will come to life with countless light displays, unique decorations, and holiday cheer.
While some of the animals are off-limits due to the chilly climate, visitors will have the chance to interact with and view many of the zoo’s more winter-friendly creatures.
As if that weren’t enough, ZooLights attendees will have access to unlimited free carousel rides and other unique holiday activities. Talk about a charming experience!
If you’re lucky, you might even catch Santa Claus himself wandering around the zoo. Rumor has it that the man in red will bring along a few of his animal pals!
On specific dates, visitors can opt to enjoy dinner with Santa. Kiddos will certainly never forget dining with loved ones among the unique beauty of the decorated zoo.
With a variety of exciting events and some of the most whimsical holiday lights imaginable, there’s nothing not to love about a visit to Binder Park Zoo at Christmastime.
