Have you had enough of bustling beaches bursting with tourists? Me too! Nothing beats finding an underrated and peaceful beach without the crowds. If you’re looking for a weekday trip on the east side of the state, look no further than the beach town of Harbor Beach, Michigan. You have your next summer vacation spot with a beautiful pier, swimming beach, and visible shipwrecks!
Harbor Beach is located on Michigan’s thumb coast, about a two-and-a-half-hour drive outside of Detroit.
There’s nothing better than getting up early in the morning and watching the sunrise at Judge James H. Lincoln Park. There’s a 1,015-foot pier with incredible views of the lighthouse and excellent fishing.
At the park, there is a lovely sandy beach to enjoy a day of sun and relaxation. There is also playground equipment, bathrooms, and a picnic area at Judge James H. Lincoln Park.
But what makes this beach so special are the shallow water shipwrecks that you can paddle to or scuba dive! The Great Lake State has plenty of shipwrecks, but very few of them are this close to the shore, making this beach a must-visit.
Whether you’re waking up early to catch a gorgeous sunrise, fishing on the pier, or paddling out to view a shipwreck, you’ll fall in love with Harbor Beach.
