We love our fresh water in Michigan. But then again, there are still plenty of us who want all the fun of the water, without having to fuss over driving out to crowded and often frigid beaches. And also those of us with little ones who we prefer to have splashing around within safe proximity of a trained lifeguard.
That’s the beauty of the waterpark. All the fun, in a safe, controlled environment. Plus many of these places have indoor facilities, meaning that the water can be enjoyed rain, snow, sleet, or shine. Last year we brought you 10 of our favorites. We’re showcasing some of those spots this year, but with some additions from our lovely readers. Have a look.
This waterpark is stacked with activities for every age level, including the Fort Mackenzie structure, River Canyon Run, four-story Alberta Falls, and the Totem Towers water slides.

There's a little something for everyone here. It's a community fitness center, so in addition to the water slide area and splash park, there's lap swimming, a gym filled with workout equipment, and facilities for private parties.
