Harry Potter has long appealed to readers of all ages, and there’s nothing better than gathering with a group of fellow muggles to celebrate this beloved series and the wonderful world that accompanies it. Here in Michigan, you’ll have the chance to explore a truly unforgettable Harry Potter-themed festival over the course of two weekends in November. Prepare to be enchanted.
John Ball Zoo will host its Wizarding Weekends events on the weekends of November 10-11 and 17-18. The zoo itself is situated at 1300 Fulton St W in Grand Rapids.
Even without the added bonus of Harry Potter-themed fun, John Ball Zoo is an incredible place to explore and learn more about the beauty of our world’s wildlife.
No matter when you choose to visit the zoo, you’ll have a blast - but the excitement of Wizarding Weekends promises to delight Michiganders from across the state.
This bewitching event will take place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on each of its designated days. Grab a few friends and put on your Hogwarts robes before heading out.
Attend Quidditch training camp, enjoy owl flight demonstrations inspired by Hedwig, venture to a potion-making class, or try a few autumn-themed sweet treats.
Attendees will even have the chance to take part in a Chamber of Secrets scavenger hunt or snap a few pictures in the Wizarding Photobooth. What’s not to love?
To attend Wizarding Weekends, you’ll simply pay regular John Ball Zoo admission: $8.50 for adults, $7.50 for children ages 2 to 12, and free for kiddos under the age of 2.
Whether you’re an unapologetic Slytherin or a Gryffindor through-and-through, one thing is for sure: you’ll have the time of your life at this unique Michigan festival.
