This natural pond is located in Walden Pond State Reservation in Concord. While there is no public transportation to this secluded area, there is a parking lot off Route 126.

This pond might sound familiar to you, as it's the same nature that inspired Henry David Thoreau's book, *Walden*. As the story goes, Thoreau sat beside the pond as he wrote.

Within this reservation are many relics of history as a tribute of Thoreau. There's even a replica of his house.

Besides the interesting history of Walden Pond, this natural body of water is fascinating in itself.

Since this body of water is so important to Concord, you'll want to be respectful to the land when you visit. Dogs are not allowed, and you must take your trash out with you.
