You Won't Want To Miss This Incredible Festival Of Ships In Massachusetts This Year

A grand parade of more than 50 historic tall ships is about to cruise through Boston Harbor, and it promises to be an absolutely spectacular event. These massive sailing ships hail from across the globe and are touring the world as part of the Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta, a trip that will take them from the United Kingdom all the way to Bermuda and the United States. Boston is actually the only city in the country where these tremendous ships will make port. Read on to learn how to see these amazing ships for free!

Experience the majesty of these towering ships as they visit Boston Harbor June 17 to 22.

In a maritime event like no other, these massive sailing ships from more than 14 countries will converge on the city on June 17 in a dramatic procession.

These ships will tower over the harbor and create a dramatic landscape of fluttering white sails.

Best of all, this event is free and open to the public!

These magnificent ships will parade from Broad Sound into the main area of Boston Harbor and cruise along the waterfront.

The ships will be led by the USCGC Eagle, nicknamed "America’s Tall Ship." It truly looks like something out of a movie.

Many of these ships are over 100 years old.

After the parade concludes around 3 p.m., there's still more nautical fun to be had.

Visitors will be able to board and explore the ships until June 22, when the ships will once again set sail on course for Canada.

The best viewing spots will be along the water on Castle Island, the Seaport District, the Downtown Waterfront, the North End Charlestown and East Boston.
