Relax By The Water At This Colorful Seaside Park In Massachusetts
Massachusetts is known for its stunning coastline and breathtaking sea views, but finding the perfect spot to hang out by the water can sometimes be a challenge. This small park by the sea is the ideal combination of pretty and quiet. Here’s why you should check it out.
Michael K. Aselton park is a wee patch of loveliness tucked away just off Main Street in downtown Hyannis. It’s one of the few public green spaces in the area where you can hang out just inches from the water.
During the busy Cape Cod summer season, this place is a rare oasis of calm. To get to it, just follow the charming stone path laid into the sidewalks and roads starting on Main Street.
Just like the yellow brick brick road, this stone path will drop you off right at the Michael K. Aselton park. You’ll know you’re there when you see the colorful buoys that decorate the park.
This spot is meticulously maintained throughout the year. You’ll be just steps from the Hyannis harbor and surrounded by flowering hydrangea bushes and soft grass.
During the warmer months, the town often hosts free concerts and events at the park. You can catch all sorts of musicians and theatre acts lighting up the park stage.
Best of all, Aselton is just moments away from everything else the downtown Hyannis area has to offer. Yummy seafood joints line the opposite road and you can easily hop back to Main Street for a bit of shopping, ice cream, or sight-seeing.
Aselton park is free to visit and a great way to lounge by the water this season. Stop by soon!
