Over 44,000 acres and a variety of ecosystems make up the Cape Cod National Seashore. And the best way to learn all about it is to visit the Salt Pond Visitor Center in Eastham which serves as its headquarters. Free to visit, you can watch a video to learn how Cape Cod was originally formed, peruse the museum and gift shop, and hit the trails to see some of the area's resplendent beauty for yourself.
Heritage Museum & Gardens is open seasonally from late April through mid-October. Set on 100 acres, visitors can stroll the grounds and marvel at more than 1,000 species of trees and flowers including rhododendrons and giant hydrangeas the Cape is known for.

A designated National Natural Landmark, this 329-acre preserve is known for its rocky knolls, or cobbles. There are no other falls quite as lovely as Bash Bish Falls. Through a series of cascades, this waterfall measures at around 200 feet in total making it the tallest waterfall in the state. A quick hike will get you there to see it in all its glory.
