The town of Truro is considered one of the most remote towns on Cape Cod but that doesn’t mean there aren’t things to see and do. With a winery, gorgeous unspoiled beaches, a handful of restaurants, and camping options, there are plenty of ways to enjoy your time here. For those who wish to camp near a winery in Massachusetts, the best option is the North of Highland Camping Area which is located in close proximity to Truro Vineyards. Can you think of a better way to spend the day as an adult by drinking wine and then heading back to your campsite near the beach?
Located approximately two miles away from each other is Truro Vineyard and the North of Highland Camping Area at Head of the Meadow Beach.
Truro Vineyards + South Hollow Spirits is set on five stunning acres and features a historic farmhouse from the 1830s that's been transformed into a tasting room and shop. Here you can purchase bottles of wine, spirits, and gifts to take home.
Growing grapes in a northeast maritime climate and sandy soil, Truro Vineyards harvests Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. Grapes are handpicked during the harvest.
During the summer months, visitors can grab a glass of wine or a mixed drink and enjoy spending time in the great outdoors. This vineyard is an absolutely beautiful and relaxing way to spend an afternoon.
Once you're done spending time at Truro Vineyards, it's time to head back to your campsite at the north of Highland Camping Area. This picturesque family-owned campground has been around since 1954.
Set within 59 acres of pine trees within the Cape Cod National Seashore, this campground is truly one-of-a-kind for tent camping. It offers 237 campsites, each with its own picnic table and parking spot for one vehicle.
