From beaches to mountains, we have a wide array of ecosystems and wildlife to see. If you head to Mount Watatic near Ashburnham, Massachusetts, not only will you see some of the best views in the state but also wildflowers and plenty of wildlife. This nature trail in Massachusetts is a wonderful day trip destination!
Mount Watatic is a popular place to hike. Not only will you get panoramic views of Boston, Mount Wachusett, and Mount Monadnock, but you'll get to see plenty of birds and other wildlife along the way.
To get to the summit and see all the wonderful nature along the way, you'll take the Wapak Trail. This easy, 2.1-mile out-and-back trail has an elevation gain of 613 feet.
Be sure to bring a good pair of hiking boots, water, and snacks with you. The trail can be slippery, so take your time. You'll want to anyways in order to stop and see all the lovely flowers along the way.
