It’s not fall in Massachusetts unless you’ve taken the time to check out some of the brilliant autumn foliage this state is blessed with. This two(ish) hour drive across the countryside is sure to fill you with the spirit of the season.
The Mohawk Trail is one of Massachusetts underrated hidden gems. This scenic byway follow an old Native American trail used to travel between the Connecticut and Hudson valleys. Today, it’s one of the best drives to enjoy fall foliage.
The trail extends from Westminster to Williamstown and takes about two and a half hours to drive completely. You can hop on or off the road at any point in order to make it suit your needs, but we’re betting you won’t be able to tear your eyes away from the gorgeous foliage long enough to look for an exit.

You’ll also pass the gorgeous French King Bridge over the Connecticut River. This bridge allows you to enjoy scenic views of the water flowing between two high hillsides through a deep gorge.
