There’s Nothing Else Like This Massive Floating Battleship Museum In Massachusetts
History buffs and curious kids alike will love visiting this awesome battleship museum in Massachusetts. Unlike your typical educational attraction, this place lets you experience history firsthand by exploring a half-dozen real battleships. Here’s what you need to know about Battleship Cove.
All aboard Battleship Cove, the state’s only floating museum and the world’s largest collection of historic naval ships!
This place is home to six historic military vessels that are open to the public for exploration, along with dozens of museum exhibits and collections.
You can check out a Japanese suicide boat, a submarine, a PT boat, and of course, the epic WII battleship USS Massachusetts!
Walking around these massive ships is truly an experience like no other. During your visit, you’ll learn about the lives and work of the sailors who crewed the vessels and the military events that shaped America.
The USS Massachusetts, in particular, is sure to wow you. This humungous destroyer houses an entire museum in its belly and is almost too big to see in one go, so be sure to budget your time wisely.
During your time at Battleship Cove, you’ll also be able to check out military memorabilia, dioramas, equipment, and personal belongings.
Admission for adults is $18 and children aged six to 14 can get in for $11. Kids under six are free and there are discounts for seniors, military members, and veterans. Considering you get to explore six ships and countless exhibits, this is a bargain.
This attraction is suitable for adults and kids. There’s seriously so much to see here, so arrive early in the day (it opens daily at 9 a.m.) to make sure you get to everything.
Don’t miss your chance to be part of history at Battleship Cove!
