This Easy, 1.2-Mile Trail Leads To Danforth Falls, One Of Massachusetts’ Most Underrated Waterfalls

Massachusetts is home to quite a few impressive cascades. Gorgeous waterfalls near me such as Bash Bish Falls and Race Brook Falls get a lot of attention, but there are some lesser-known waterfalls around that are totally worth discovering. Flying under the waterfall radar also means fewer crowds to content with. In fact, one of the best waterfalls in Massachusetts is hidden right in Hudson along a beautiful and accessible hiking trail through a well preserved conservation area.

You can learn more about hiking the Danforth Falls Loop Trail in Hudson by checking out the hike’s listing on AllTrails. You’ll find a detailed map of the route, additional photos of the trail, and reviews by other hikers. Have you ever been to this stunning Massachusetts waterfall?

What else can you do at the Danforth Falls Conservation Land?

The Danforth Falls Conservation Land is a stretch of around 80 acres owned by the town of Hudson, Massachusetts. It includes a number of hiking trails, including a 450 summit atop Philips Hill, a brook, and, of course, the famous Danforth Falls.

Hiking is the primary pursuit at this tract of preserved land in Massachusetts but it’s not the only way to enjoy the natural space. The conservation area is also popular for birding where you might spot American Kestrels, American Goldfinches, Blue Jays, Chimney Swifts, and other birds native to Massachusetts.

In the summer the Danforth Brook on the property is stocked for fishing and you can spend a leisurely day catching fish by the serene waterside. When it does come to hiking, the Danforth Falls trail is the easiest on the conservation land. The various trails leading to Philips Hill summit are more rigorous and better suited for intermediate hikers. If you’re looking for a challenge, consider one of those hikes after enjoying the breathtaking waterfalls.

Your dog can enjoy the natural beauty of the Danforth Falls Conservation Land with you, as long as they’re on a leash.
