We know Boston’s a gorgeous city and it’s always fascinating to view it from an aerial perspective. However, this movie takes things a step further. Shot by Joerg Daiber of LittleBigWorld, the film combines timelapse footage with tilt-shift. The end result creates the impression of a miniature version of Boston.

Tilt-shift can be a polarizing filming choice because some people find it disorientating. It’s popular with architectural photographers who use it to capture the full scope of a tall building, while keeping its lines straight. Another use of tilt-shift is miniature faking, like you see in this video. You take an ordinary scene and manipulate it in a way that makes the viewer feel like Gulliver in Lilliput! A special lens or software allows photographers and videographers to achieve this result.

Personally, I feel this movie captures the hustle and bustle of a city in constant motion. Rather than an homage to Boston’s beauty, this film is an ode to its energy. It truly shows The Hub in a way you’ve never seen it before. Sit back and prepare to be enthralled…
