Hello, waterfall lovers! I often get asked what some easier hikes are around Maryland, and the following spot is perfect for both adults and children. At a little over 1 mile in length, this rustic and diverse trail leads to one of the prettiest waterfalls in the state. Sound perfect? Then read on!

Kilgore Falls is located at Rocks State Park in Harford County.

While you're here, be sure to also check out the King and Queen Seat overlook!
To find the falls, take Falling Branch Trail. It's a mere 1.2 miles in length, with bridges, boardwalks, dirt paths, and even a stream crossing.

Be sure to bring a camera to snap nature-infused photos along the way.
Some parts can be bumpy so even though this trail is popular with children, it's not ideal for strollers.

Be sure your little ones are at least walking age.
Soon, you'll arrive at Kilgore Falls, which is the second highest free-falling waterfall in the state.

Take in the scenery or even enjoy a dip on warmer days. Be aware that parking fills up quickly during summer weekends so earlier is best!
