Today's adventure takes us to Washington Monument State Park in the Middletown / Boonsboro area.
The half-mile out-and-back hike features plenty of woodland views along the way. It takes about 20 minutes or so to reach the monument, but be aware that much of the short hike is uphill.
Soon, you'll reach The Washington Monument, which is a 40-foot-tall tower that looks like it's straight out of a fairytale. Your kids might even think it's a castle!
If you're wanting to extend your adventure further, then simply hop on the nearby Appalachian Trail. This scenic spot is a must-visit, whether just for the historic monument, or for the many more nature-infused areas all around.
