The perfect example of an unassuming, not-so-flashy building housing scrumptious food inside is Salt & Vine in Olney, Maryland. Situated inside a rebuilt historic building from the 1800s, you’d never guess that such tasty food was coming from the kitchen inside. Serving up traditional Italian food in Olney, Maryland, come dine at this historic hotspot Salt & Vine.

From the outside, Salt & Vine looks like a house that maybe the mayor would live in, but inside you’ll find some of the best Italian food in the neighborhood.

The building, known as the historic Olney House, was built in 1800, so it’s been around for quite some time. The house was named after the village poet William Cowper’s grew up in England.

After being purchased in 2019 by Thomas Zippelli, the house went through many renovations, but in conjunction with the historical society, to retain the building’s original design.

Today, visitors can sidle up to the history Olney House in order to feast on handmade pastas, fresh seafood, and even steaks that are butchered in-house.
