Spend The Day At This Hot Air Balloon Festival In Maryland For A Uniquely Colorful Experience
Calling all festival lovers! Last year, we featured we featured
Preakness Celebration Balloon Festival which may be one of Maryland’s most well known hot air balloon events. And this year, we think that Chesapeake Bay Balloon & Wine Festival deserves a bit of attention, too. This annual event is located in a gorgeous rural area, with pretty views stretching as far as the eye can see. Mark your calendar!
As we mentioned above, the best thing about Chesapeake Bay Balloon & Wine Festival is the location. The event is held in Cordova, which is a farm town in Talbot County.
There will be plenty of food vendors to keep your belly full. The festival takes place at Triple Creek Winery so there will be an abundance of local wine for the adults as well.
Children will love the Kid's Zone, featuring face painting, a bounce house, rock climbing, and this colorful train ride.
And be sure to check out the Walk-About Balloon. It's a partially inflated hot air balloon in which you can walk inside! It's like parachute day in gym class all over again -- but even better.
If you're feeling adventurous, book a passenger flight and see sky-high views of Maryland like never before. Cost is $240 per person.
For a less intimidating excursion, tethered rides are also available. These rides are attached to the ground by rope, still allowing you to float up to 60 feet above the festival. Cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12.
Or simply just attend to gaze at the multi-colored hot air balloons all around. It's not often you get to see sights like this.
At nighttime, Balloon Glow takes place. See these spectacular structures light up against the darkness for an enchanting experience.
This year, Chesapeake Bay Balloon & Wine Festival takes place August 3rd to 5th so save the date! You won't be disappointed.
