Hello, Marylanders. We love featuring little known spots around the Old Line State that are worth seeking out. Whether you attend for an event or simply explore the grounds, this place is sure to inspire.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
The Shrine of St. Anthony is located on on a whopping 310 acres, hidden in Ellicott City.
Whether you're local or make a pilgrimage here, this place is sure to inspire. When you find a particularly breathtaking spot, feel free to rest, pray, or meditate.
While this place is open year-round, it's particularly beautiful during spring and summer. Plants flourish among the paths, surrounding you in a fairy tale setting.
We've showed you the gorgeous grounds, but what about the massive shrine building? This impressive structure was built in the early 1930s and is just as beautiful today as it was long ago.
Whether you visit The Shrine of St. Anthony for indoor services, hiking, meditating, or outdoor events, you're sure to love it. The chapel and grounds are open to the public daily from 9am until 5pm.
