We've written about Holland Island before, particularly this house that was once the last home standing on the island. This lone structure collapsed in 2010 and was then demolished.
But that wasn't the only house that used to be here. Watermen, farmers, and their families lived on Holland Island in the late 1800s to early 1900s. After erosion began to take over the land, families moved inland or to the mainland, primarily to the nearby town of Crisfield.
Many even disassembled their homes and rebuilt in Crisfield, leaving Holland Island looking barren. However, there are still remnants of life, and even death, as shown in this aerial footage.
