News of the upcoming Great American Eclipse has been sweeping the nation, and we’ve got all the details right here! Read on to learn more about this once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon, and precisely what time Baltimore can expect to witness this solar event.

On Monday August 21st, 2017, a solar eclipse will take place over the US, leaving a handful of states (pictured dark grey below) in complete darkness.

Although Baltimore is not in the path of totality, we will see about 80% of the sun covered.

The last Great American Eclipse was all the way back in 1918 so needless to say, this is a once-in-a-lifetime sight.

According to this link, the eclipse will pass over the area between 2:40pm to 2:45pm, with its peak at precisely 2:42:53. If you'll be away from Baltimore that day, you can insert other zip codes throughout the US to see more peak times.
