The journey begins at Battle Creek Cypress Swamp in Prince Frederick. Stroll the easy boardwalk path while viewing the whimsical bald cypress trees all around. Be sure to also stop at the Nature Center for the fascinating exhibits.

This hidden gem is the first fossil beach on the list and it's full of beauty. Walk along the water's edge and search for shark teeth and other fossils while enjoying views of the bay. This beach can be visited year-round and you can also stay in the local cabins here during warmer months.

All ages are sure to enjoy this gorgeous park with a beach, plus natural pools all around. Kids love splashing around in the shallow areas and everyone should keep their eyes peeled for fossils as well. This area is popular during summertime but it's oh-so peaceful during colder months.

A third and final fossil beach awaits at Calvert Cliffs State Park. Hike the 1.8-mile trail to the sandy beach and be on the lookout. Folks have found megalodon teeth here, among other historic treasures. A pretty day awaits at this unique Maryland park.

There's a lot to enjoy about the Solomons area, including charming stores and delicious seafood restaurants. Best of all are the stunning sights all around, including this view of the Thomas Johnson bridge at sunset. Be sure to also walk along the local pier. This place is full of charm!

Point Lookout State Park is bustling with history and splendid views as well. Learn about how this area used to be a Prisoner of War Camp, hike the local trails, visit the beach, or even camp out. You must check out the long pier, which offers some of the best water views around.
