This Year-Round Indoor Farmers Market In Maine Is The Best Place To Spend Your Weekend

In Maine, we love the abundance of local goods that can be found in every corner of the state. If you love the idea of supporting local businesses, you’ll be pleased with just how easy it is to do here. One of the best ways is by purchasing the things you love from local farms, and farmers markets make that incredibly easy. This one, located in Waldo County, is open year-round with a fun indoor winter location, too.

The Belfast Farmers' Market is one of the best examples of just how great it is when local Mainers come together for the community.

The market began more than 40 years ago when a local group of farmers and local food producers saw a need for a community-focused weekly market.

This coming together of local farmers, bakers and crafters first took place in an East Belfast parking lot, but today has expanded exponentially.

The market is open year-round, which means access to all the things we love about Maine. In the spring and summer you'll find things like fresh-cut flowers.

And in the winter you'll find the some of the best baked goods in the state.

Of course, there's plenty of fresh produce and meat to be found during the winter months as well.

The indoor portion of the market takes place from November through March inside the local Aubuchon greenhouse.

That means the weather won't impact your experience and you can shop for the best local goods without any worries.

The Belfast Farmers’ Market operates every Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. From April through October, the market is located at Waterfall Arts on High Street.
