Spend Your Days Amidst The Pines In This One-Of-A-Kind Maine Tree Dwelling Village
Maine has some of the most wonderful hotels. From historic inns filled with tales of the state’s founding to more modern places that will make your summer feel like a total escape from reality. Maybe it’s the many hotels, inns and bed-and-breakfasts that have led to the nickname, “Vacationland.” Or, maybe it’s just how beautiful life is here. If you want to appreciate just how much that beauty surrounds you, you’ll want to spend a night in nature. While camping is great, we think the best way to appreciate the nature in Maine is by sleeping among the trees. And by “among,” we mean in them! Check out this incredible tree dwelling that will make you feel like you’re in a storybook.
Seguin Tree Dwellings & Gathering Space is a unique space sitting on a 21-acre wooded hill near Georgetown, Maine.
The brainchild of Loren Francis, Ida Lennestål, Marsha Dunn and Philip Francis, the space is meant to be an escape in the trees while also providing actual retreat space for small groups to gather.
The Francis brothers grew up just across from the land, but didn't realize the beauty and potential for what it could become until it was for sale and they paid a visit.
The Souhegan, which means "watching place," is wonderful for larger groups of about 4 people. It has a bathroom inside, as well as this incredible hot tub right outside.
Two other dwellings, Madawaska and Isle Au haut, offer ideal accommodation for one to two people. No matter which you pick, the views and craftsmanship is the same.
We also love that Seguin is dedicated to gatherings of for people to take part in celebrations, retreats, readings, dinners, lectures, and yoga classes. There have been retreats here, as well as an incredible Artists in Residence program that allows folks to spend a few days in the trees to create and recharge.
Each of the three dwellings are available to book. They come with access to canoes and kayaks, as well as just about all the fresh air your lungs can take in!
You can learn more about Seguin Tree Dwellings & Gathering Space through their beautiful website. You can also check out more photos on Facebook. Interested in the Artist in Residence program? Click here to learn more. You can give them a call on 207-751-5241.
