16 Thoughts Everyone In Maine Has When Winter Is Coming

People living in other states think winter has arrived, but it takes a real Mainer to know that this isn’t even the tip of the iceberg. While we’ve had some snow and some chilly days, most of us know that it can always be colder, snowier and icier. So, while we await the real Maine winter that we know is on its way, here are a few thoughts some of us have had at one moment or another.

1. "So how much is THIS year going to cost me?"

2. "I'm so excited for our first snowfall!"

3. "I'm so excited for this to melt already!"

4. "I know this is Maine, but exactly how much snow must fall before I can reasonably say I'm not coming into work?"

5. "So, wait, what are the rules of the parking ban in the city?"

7. "I might as well have two marshmallows, it's going to be a long time until bathing suit weather."

8. "No one will notice if I put just a teensy bit of Allen's in this hot chocolate."

10. "This is the year I invest in some serious snow removal equipment!"

12. "...or, maybe just teach the kids how to get it done."

13. "Even autumn was nice. I'd take a lovely autumn day right about now."

14. "I wonder how long it's going to take to fix the 295 this summer? Again."

15. "Finally time to ski! I wonder who will have all trails open first?"

16. "At least it's snuggle season again. Maybe we can all just do that until spring!"
