This Tasty Farm Cafe In Maine Sources Their Ingredients From The Surrounding Pastures
There are a few places in Maine that we return to again and again. The best of these spots are the ones we visited as kids and that still offer fun activities at a reasonable price. Wolfe’s Neck Center is one of our favorites. Throughout the year, they offer fun events and activities meant to enrich the lives of Mainers and those from away. This year, we found another feature we love about this place and it will certainly keep us coming back
One of the tastiest ways to appreciate the fresh foods that are grown in Maine is by visiting the Wolfe's Neck Farms Café in Freeport. You'll find it right next to the campground office.
The café creates meals and treats using fresh ingredients directly from the pastures and fields that surround it. That means vegetables and fruit come from the farm's organic, non-GMO plot. And meat comes from their own cows, sheep, chicken and pigs.
When you enjoy a meal or snack here you're also supporting the center's education programs as well as helping to ensure that their local farmers can continue producing the foods we love.
Wolfe’s Neck Farms Café is open seasonally from May through October. During this time their hours are Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. These can change so be sure to check their website for more information. You can also follow them on Facebook to see more photos and keep up with the menu. Wolfe’s Neck Center can be reached at 207-865-4469.
Michelle has lived in many places, but counts Maine as one of the best. In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
