The Small Cafe, Lil’s In Maine Has A Cruller Known Around The World
Folks say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but we’d argue that any meal that includes something sweet is definitely the most important one! Whether it’s a perfect pastry in the morning or a few treats to enjoy throughout the day, this little cafe in Maine will have you smiling at just the thought.
Lil's Cafe, located at Wallingford Square, opened its doors in 2013 along with a few other businesses aiming to create a meaningful downtown space in Kittery.
With the goal of being a community meeting space, ideal for making new friends and returning again and again, Lil's filled a much-needed vacancy among the locals here.
Lil's is named after Lilian Mangos, the “in-window” cashier at Bob’s Clam Hut, who was beloved by the community. While she didn't live to see the bakery open, her spirit is certainly alive in the smiles of those who work here.
Maple glazed is always great. But so is the cinnamon sugar version. This is why you'll be visiting more than once. You just never know what you'll be able to snag!
Leave it to a cafe in Maine to serve up the best crullers in the region and offer great tunes!
Lil’s Cafe is typically open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can learn more about them, including how to order online, by visiting their website. Or, follow them on Facebook for the latest updates. You can reach them on 207-703-2800.
Michelle has lived in many places, but counts Maine as one of the best. In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
