This Little Roadside Custard Stand In Maine Is Worth The Journey From Anywhere
Summertime in Maine means fresh air and seafood shacks. But it also means ice cream and that’s what we’re talking about today. Well, sort of. Custard isn’t exactly ice cream but it satisfies a very similar sweet tooth and that’s good enough for us! Before the summer is over, take yourself to this delicious little stand and rejoice! Turns out heaven is a place on earth.
The Hodgman family has owned and operated this frozen custard stand since the 1940s. That's nearly 9 decades of a perfected recipe.
Flavors are either vanilla or chocolate, along with a special flavor of the week. Depending on the week it might be something like cherry, strawberry or even pumpkin!
And if that's not enough, go for a sundae or a banana boat. The sundaes come in a variety of sizes depending on your level of indulgence. Go for the extra large. At under $7 it's a bargain.
Hodgman’s Frozen Custard is open every day with the exception of Monday and Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. You can follow the delicious on Facebook. And they can be reached on 207-926-3553. Address: 1108 Lewiston Road, New Gloucester, ME 04260.
