This 35-Mile Road Trip Leads To Some Of The Most Scenic Parts Of Maine, No Matter What Time Of Year It Is
There are plenty of ways to take in the natural beauty of Maine. In just about every corner of the state you’ll find a hiking trail or a nature walk. And, if you love the coast there are miles of roads to explore for secret beaches and incredible views. While we love getting outside to explore, there’s something fun about simply hopping in the car and heading off on an adventure. A great way to do that is by taking this scenic byway in one of the most beautiful regions of the state.
Road tripping through Maine is one of our favorite ways to get to know the state more closely. Around every turn is another view, and every view offers another glimpse into what makes this place so special.
The trip includes Routes 4, 16, and 17, which sounds like a lot of driving -- but in total, this scenic road trip only takes about two and a half hours.
While the trip will take you through forests and along open roads, its most notable point of interest is Mooselookmeguntic Lake, one of the state's largest bodies of water.
Michelle has lived in many places, but counts Maine as one of the best. In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
