The White Loop Trail is a quick and easy trail that won’t take all day, but will reward you with some fantastic views. Here’s what you need to know.
The White Loop Trail in Porter Preserve is a lightly trafficked hike that’s bursting with beautiful views of the coastline.
The trail weaves through old growth spruce, oak and pine trees. Expect soft pine needles underfoot and the tang of salty air as you make your way to the coast.
This hike is just a mile long, but it dazzles with numerous overlook points. Some feature wooden chairs and benches so you can really settle in and enjoy the views.
One of the awesome things about this hike is that though you only gain 65 feet of elevation, you’re treated to views that extreme for miles into the distance.
The trail isn’t as popular as other area hikes, so you’re likely to have the place to yourself. Be sure to pack snacks to enjoy as you drink in the sublime atmosphere.
If you visit during the warmer months, you should be sure to slather on the sunscreen and consider bringing bug spray. Remember to take out any trash that you bring in, and don’t forget the camera!
