These 6 Beautiful Beaches In Maine Are Some Of The Most Peaceful Places To Explore During The Off-Season
Throughout the summer, Maine is teeming with tourists who come from all over the world to experience the best of New England. While we can’t deny the beauty of the state when the sun is out and the weather is warm, there’s still a lot to love during other parts of the year. We especially love the coast during these seasons. If you agree, you’ll want to check out some of the best beaches during the off-season in Maine. They’re worth the adventure!
You might love this beach when the weather is warm in the summer, but it's a fantastic place to visit in the off-season, too. The state park has a network of trails over two miles long and many include beach views that are likely to be peaceful and empty.
Crescent Beach State Park, 109 Bowery Beach Rd, Cape Elizabeth, ME 04107, USA
Another state park offering a great day at the beach, Reid State Park is fun for a summer day. But don't avoid it in the fall and winter. There are lots of ways to see the area including a 3.5-mile trail that includes water views for much of the way.
Reid State Park, 375 Seguinland Rd, Georgetown, ME 04548, USA
Everyone in Maine knows that Old Orchard Beach is a major beach destination when the temperatures rise, but those who spend winters here know just how special it is when the weather gets chilly. Park along one of the side streets or downtown and enjoy a slow walk along the water. Sunrise and sunset are especially great times to visit.
While not exactly a beach on its own, there are tons of coastal areas to explore within Acadia National Park. There are beaches to enjoy for an afternoon, but we love the trails that bring you close to the water without needing a blanket and umbrella for the day. Beautiful year-round, the Ocean Path Trail will give you views of the coast while also helping you raise that heart rate.
Ferry Beach is just two miles from Old Orchard Beach, making it a great alternative to the hustle and bustle of the crowds. It's also a great place to visit in the winter. The Ferry Beach, Camp Ellis Breakwater trail is a fun way to explore and will take you right to the water's edge.
Ferry Beach State Park, 95 Bayview Rd, Saco, ME 04072, USA
There are seven miles of beach in Wells and this is just one of the options. Enjoy a walk on the water with views of the coastal homes to remember why Maine is such a great place to be year-round.

Michelle has lived in many places, but counts Maine as one of the best. In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
