The Most Unique McDonald’s In The World Is Right Here In Maine

Fast food is as ubiquitous in America as cars and houses. For better or worse, it’s become a staple in some American diets and there’s not a lot of reason to believe it’s going away any time soon. You might not like the giant golden arches visible from every major highway in the country, but would you believe us if we told you that some are actually hard to spot? This one in Freeport looks just like a regular house, which feels very Maine to us!

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

McDonald’s is located at 11 Mallett Dr., Freeport, Maine. They’re open every day from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. There’s no local website, but you can give them a call on 207-865-9566 if you have questions that just can’t wait. You might also want to try making a reservation when you call. They won’t take it, but it might be funny to see what they say!

Now that we’re on the topic of unique finds in Vacationland, have you been to this crazy ice cream shop? it might look run-of-the-mill from the outside, but they serve one of the most Maine flavors ever and we’re not sure we want to try it!
