We all know that getting outside in Maine is one of the best ways to remember why we love it here. Whether you’re taking a major hike through the woods, sitting at the beach enjoying the breeze or just walking your dog through your neighborhood there are few things more relaxing the Maine outdoors. When we think of these trips outside it’s usually under bright skies. But, this hike offers something totally new and different. Stay up past your bedtime and experience Maine under the night sky.
Because the coast of Maine has such a small amount of light pollution, it's one of the best places to see the southern night sky.
Get there by heading east on Curtis Cove Road for about a half mile. Park when you see the curb on the right side of the street. From here you'll follow the path to the rocky coast. It an easy and direct hike that's doable by all skill levels!
We love heading here with friends and blankets when the weather is a bit chilly. And if you do this short hike in the spring or fall you're almost guaranteed to have the place to yourself.
