The Little Harbor Brook Trail In Maine Is A Big Secluded Treasure
Finding a fun hike in Maine isn’t difficult. Just about every corner of the state offers something in the way of outdoor adventures, even if that adventure is a simple stroll through the nearby park. Each trail offers something different and our favorites are the ones we don’t hear about every day. These are the ones that get less attention than the popular routes, but they’re just as much fun. This one, found within Acadia National Park, often gets overshadowed by more popular routes but it’s every bit as beautiful!
Acadia National Park is one of the most well-known attractions in Maine. But while the park is popular, there are a number of features within it that are waiting to be widely discovered.
While there are some exposed roots which means you'll need to take some extra caution when hiking here, most of the route is fairly level and easy to navigate.
Mostly, though, we love how undiscovered it feels. Depending on when you visit you're likely to see just a few people, which is rare for trails in super-popular Acadia!
Take your time along the hike and when the trail ends, simply turn around and head back the same way you came. There are also some other trails that cross Little Harbor Brook trail, so there's always an option to extend your time through one of those. Be sure to follow the trail map to make sure you don't get lost. And, as always, have fun!
Little Harbor Brook Trail can be accessed whenever the park is open, but visitors say it’s best between March and October. You can learn more about it and see a map by checking out alltrails.com. You can learn more about visiting Acadia National Park by visiting the official website here. For those who never leave the dogs at home you’ll love that they can come along on this hike, just be sure to keep them on a leash.
