In just a few week’s Halloween will be over and Thanksgiving and the holiday season will be upon us. So, this time of year might just be your last chance to do something out of the ordinary that doesn’t involve sitting across from a distant relative who’s asking too many questions. As Halloween quickly approaches, you should be working to fit in as many spooky, creepy experiences as possible. This haunted trolley ride in Maine is a great way to do it. The Haunted Kittery and York Trolley Tour begins in Portsmouth at the Deadwick's Ethereal Emporium in Portsmouth, where Nickleby, the Victorian trolley will take you on your journey.
Led by author and historian Roxie Zwicker, this tour is full of fascinating history including real stories and accounts of ghostly things that have happened in Maine's oldest towns. This is also the longest running ghost tour in the state.
Since 1994, Roxie has been sharing her expertise and research. The tours have been going strong since 2002, making it no surprise that they're some of the most attended tours in the area.
They're so well-loved that they've been featured in media outlets including the Boston Herald, The New York Times, The History Channel and the Travel Channel.
The tour follows the same 11 mile historic train and trolley route that existed between Portsmouth and York starting in 1887 until 1927.
