The Unique Restaurant In Maine Where Every Order Comes With A Free Prize

Bar Harbor is one quintessential Maine ocean town that everyone should visit. It is a popular choice for a reason. Being right on the water gives life to this little town and with close proximity to Acadia National Park you simply can’t go wrong. One of my favorite restaurants in town that is perfect for a big dinner after a long day of hiking or a place to bring your whole family when you want to taste some New England seafood. If you are looking for an eclectic mix of foods and a fun environment then we have a great suggestion for you. Geddy’s in Bar Harbor, Maine, is a unique restaurant you simply must visit.

Just across the street is a beautiful little green space park where in the summer you can find street performers singing songs and putting on shows. The park also has fantastic ocean views, and you are within walking distance of several interesting shops just down the street. The whole town of Bar Harbor comes alive during the summer, and Geddy’s is no exception. Whenever we have gone to Bar Harbor this was a must-stop place to eat a meal after a long day of hiking in Acadia.

The walls are filled with interesting things to look at, from nautical-themed decor to license plates from all over the United States. You will never be bored while waiting for your food since there are so many quirky items and typical Mainer jokes hanging just about anywhere your eye could wander.

You won't find just finger foods, but you will find one of the most diverse menus in all of Bar Harbor. Big stacks of juicy burgers, chicken options, Mexican cuisine, and pizza are just a few of the items you will find on the menu. Bar Harbor is a big seafood town and as much as I would recommend a good lobster during your visit if you are looking for something different you can find it at Geddy's. In fact, I think the menu is one of the many reasons this restaurant is set apart from the other fine dining options in town.

Geddy’s has fresh-from-the-ocean-to-your-plate kind of seafood. To warm you, up you can get a bowl of Geddy’s lobster stew or New England clam chowder from what they call the Cauldron. You can order a lobster roll or just get the classic red crustacean on your plate so you can crack it open yourself.

You can channel your inner child and spend the meal making your very own masterpiece. And there is a purpose to it other than a satisfying colored sheet - if you take that mat downstairs with you, they will give you a free prize.

If you somehow missed the sense of humor upstairs, then you are sure to find it in the gift store. Geddy’s never takes itself too seriously and you can find fun souvenirs and unique gifts in the shop. We have a distinct culture in Maine and you will find plenty of items that pay homage to that very culture. Don’t forget to bring your mat for that free prize! What is the free prize you ask?
