The Epic Outdoor Food Fest In Maine You Simply Cannot Miss
Maine is known for a lot of things – a gorgeous coastline, lighthouses, seafood – but nothing is as synonymous with Vacationland as lobster. Whether eating it or watching the boats come in after catching it all day, it’s hard not to involve the special crustacean in your daily Maine life. Aside from waking up before dawn to catch it, nothing will bring you closer to Maine lobster than spending a weekend at the Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland, which takes place every summer.
Get ready for the 2017 Maine Lobster Festival taking place August 2nd to the 6th in Rockland!
This famed Maine festival got its start in March 1947 when a group of folks got together to discuss ways to revive the summer activities that Camden had held prior to the war.
Today, the festival is registered as a nonprofit organization raising money for local groups in the area.
In the past, the Maine Lobster Festival Board of Directors has given more than $500,000 to the local community by supporting organizations such as Midcoast Regional Child Development Services, Trekkers and Meals on Wheels.
And the best part is that all this community support is delicious and so much fun!
