This Eclectic Garage Restaurant In Maine Is Such A Fun Place To Dine
Dining options in Maine are bountiful. Whether it’s seafood or the landlubber’s special, if you’re hungry there’s no shortage of options. What we especially love about being hungry in Maine are the many unique spaces on offer. In Maine, you’re likely to find plenty of spots that are tucked away or located in converted buildings that once had a much different purpose. You’ll find this spot in a converted garage and it’s sure to fill you up!
Originally a livery stable, this spot in Scaroborough was converted into a garage before it became some of the best BBQ we've ever tasted.
Inside The Garage (yes, that's what it's called!) you'll find plenty of tables to eat, though we recommend you find a warm day to visit so you can sit outside.
The menu is eclectic - serving everything from BBQ to seafood to small plates. We love the lobster pork belly BLT, which comes on a kaiser with spinach and mayo for about $18.
If you've got a big appetite (or just a lot of friends) you'll want to try The Overhaul which includes brisket, sausage, half rack of ribs, half chicken, cornbread, pickles and your choice of two sides all for $56.
The Garage BBQ is located at Pine Point Beach at 3 E Grand Ave., Scarborough, Maine. They’re open most days, but call ahead to make sure. You can reach them on 207-808-7422. To see their full menu check out their website and for events and more photos follow them on Facebook.
Michelle has lived in many places, but counts Maine as one of the best. In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
