Rapid Ray's Serves The Best Burgers In Maine And They've Been Around Over 50 Years

From clams to lobster to mussels to blueberry pie, there are so many food choices that represent the quintessential Maine. We’re not complaining, but we do think there are tons of other foods here in Vacationland worth trying. We’ve got a wonderfully diverse population, which means there are lots of restaurants with food from all over the word worth trying. And, while we can’t deny that Mainers cook up a mean lobster we do crave a meaty burger every once in a while. If you’re in the same boat, we suggest heading to this spot in Saco, which has been a part of the community for over 50 years!

Rapid Ray's has been serving up late-night burgers in Saco for as long as anyone can remember.

In 1953 Renald "Ray" Camire got things started by selling his burgers out of a bread truck.

Since that time, two more generations of the Camire family have made sure that the community doesn't go without a burger fix!

The menu is extensive, but simple with fast food fare ranging from a hot dog to the clam cake burger.

Order fries and you'll find that you get a huge serving of piping hot ones.

But, don't forget to order the onion rings as well.

A cheeseburger is always a great option.

But, if you want the Rapid Ray's experience that's kept things going for over 50 years, you'll want to order "The Big One!"

The Big One comes with two patties of ground beef (it's done in house!) and two slices of melted cheese. And the cheese dog makes a nice complement if you've got room.

And it's not uncommon to see a few to-go orders ready for their hungry customers.

Did we mention the homemade whoopie pies?

Whatever it is you indulge in at Rapid Ray's, you're going to have a good time.
