Mainers have long known that they live in the best state in America. Given that status, it’s no wonder that we’ve got so many incredible places to go, things to see, and experiences to enjoy. We’re not trying to say that versions of these things can’t be found anywhere else. But we ARE saying that the Maine versions just can’t be beat! Read on for what we think are the places in Maine that are better than anywhere else you’ll find in America!
Angel Falls is one of the most beautiful, but underrated places in Maine. The falls are about 90 feet and are considered to be the tallest in Maine. This is a good trip to make if you're in the Rangeley area as the trailhead is about 18 miles south of Oquossoc. The hike is only about a mile, but it's fairly steep in some areas.
Stroll through Freeport looking for deals and you'll find tons. Stroll through Freeport looking for fast food and you might have a hard time. That's not because it doesn't exist, but instead because it's hidden. There's just one McDonald's and it's not your run of the mill burger joint. There are lots of remote areas throughout America, but The County in Maine feels like the most remote. Regardless, it's certainly worthy of being called the most beautiful! There are lots of activities to do here, including hiking, running, snowshoeing, and skiing.

A small Maine town that's big of scenery is what we say about Blue Hill! Located in Hancock County, about 14 miles southwest of Ellsworth and near Acadia National Park, Blue Hill has some wonderful hiking options and some even better dining options!
Maine's largest and only National Park can keep you busy for days. Whether you choose to get lost in the forest by spending your time hiking and camping, or if you stay in Bar Harbor and make day trips, Acadia is one of the most beloved and well-known trips to take while in Maine.

Maine's got its fair share of weird! The world's only museum exploring the study of hidden or unknown animals such as Yetis, Bigfoot, Lake Monsters, and Sea Serpents, as well as hundreds of other yet-to-be-found animals (cryptids) is located right here. Makes sense considering all the Sasquatch sightings reported here. Last winter, the museum hosted the Minnesota Iceman — as an exhibit, not a guest. Visit Katahdin Iron Works State Park to explore Gulf Hagas, a beautiful three-mile area that features sheer canyon walls, lush forest, and waterfalls. The Gulf Hagas Rim Trail is 8.6 miles.
