The Winter Horseback Riding Trail In Louisiana That’s Pure Magic
If you’ve ever thought about going horseback riding in Louisiana, consider visiting Kisatchie National Forest. It’s one of the most beautiful places in the state—and the places to bring your horse are even more beautiful. Let’s explore.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

But most people who know about trails agree that one of the best places you can go is Kisatchie National Forest.

Being with a group always makes it more fun!

It's an awesome place to enjoy rare rock formations like the one pictured here.

It's a 9 mile circular trail that is very well marked making it ideal for riders.

The best place to go camping if you want to pick up one of those trails is the Red Dirt Wildlife Management Preserve over two horse camps.

That's why we think riding one of these trails is the best thing you can do to kick off 2017!
