The Louisiana Hike That Leads To The Most Unforgettable Destination
Louisiana isn’t known for our sweeping mountain views, but what we lack in peaks and valleys, we make up for in bayous and swamp scenes. However, there’s one particular hike that you wouldn’t expect to find in Louisiana, and it leads to a truly unforgettable destination.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

It was named after James Christopher Driskill, who owned 324 acres, including Driskill Mountain and the surrounding area, during the 1850s.

There are signs directing you to the trail and the trail itself is very easy to follow.

Along the way, you’ll be surrounded by towering pines and beautiful landscape.

You’ll have lovely views of Mount Jordan, the second highest natural point in the state (at 492 feet).

And now you have bragging rights to tell your friends that you hiked to the tallest natural summit in Louisiana!
