11 Things You’ve Grown To Undeniably Hate If You’re From Louisiana
Ok so maybe Louisiana isn’t perfect, but no place is. If you’ve grown up here, or spent a considerable amount of time in the boot, you’ve naturally accumulated a few pet peeves. Here are some of the most common ones.
1. Love bug season
During love bug season, they’re everywhere. It's like a plague. And they’re impossible to get off your car!
2. Scorching hot summer days
Because getting into your car that’s been sitting in the sun all day is pure torture.
3. Parade Traffic
You take the good, you take the bad, I guess.
4. People who think all we do is hunt and/or ride alligators.
5. People who think we’re dumb just because we’re from Louisiana
Again, what? No. Just because we live life a little slower than others doesn’t reflect anything about our intelligence. Life’s a marathon not a sprint, y’all.
6. Other SEC football teams
Maybe it’s Alabama, maybe it’s Florida, Ole Miss, or Georgia. If you’re a fan of the tigers, then you undeniably hate one (or all) of those teams.
Doesn’t matter how long you’ve lived here, you never get used to it.
8. People mistaking "LA" for Los Angeles.
This one might be just for me, but when researching, I have to be careful when I use "LA" in the term because I will inevitably get several Los Angeles search results.
I hate that I had to search for this image. They’re massive, ugly creatures that fly and will scare the life out of you when you least expect it. And calling it a palmetto bug doesn’t make it any better!
10. People trying to do a Cajun accent.
It’ll make you cringe every time.
11. Missing all the little things you take for granted if you leave the state.
If you go anywhere up north, you can forget about sweet tea, grits, dressed poboys, boudin, community coffee, basically everything you’ve ever grown up eating. Better just stay put.
