There’s A Delicious Steakhouse Hiding Inside This Old Louisiana Warehouse That’s Begging For A Visit
Sometimes, you just need to treat yourself to a nice, juicy steak. There are countless restaurants peppered throughout the state that offer up amazing steaks, but none compare to this historical gem located in northeast Louisiana:
Nestled along the beautiful Ouachita River, Warehouse No. 1 is a charmingly rustic restaurant that serves some of the best steaks you’ll ever have.
The family owned and operated restaurant opened its doors in 1980, but the history behind the building goes back much further.
The century-old structure was once a warehouse for cotton bales, which were loaded from steamboats making their way up and down the Ouachita River.
When the building was renovated to begin the process of turning it into a restaurant, they worked to preserve as much as possible. The original floors, exterior walls, and the exposed support beams are all original and add to the rustic atmosphere where you’ll feel welcome as soon as you step in the door.
As Warehouse No. 1 is located right on the Ouachita River, the outdoor patio is simply breathtaking.
There’s nothing like dinner with a view, right?
And the sunsets? Mesmerizing.
It’s perfect for a romantic date night!
The menu features an array of Cajun and Creole classics, each with its own unique spin.
Staples like shrimp and grits, fried catfish, and oysters are just a few of their specialties.
However, it’s the steaks that truly shine at Warehouse No. 1.
Cooked to preference and seasoned to perfection, these steaks are fit for a king.
With options like New York strips, ribeyes, and peppercorn filets, you’ll have a tough time deciding which one to order.
Each one will make your taste buds explode. Splurge and add shrimp for a delicious surf and turf meal you won’t soon forget.
You can find Warehouse No 1. At 1 Olive St., Monroe, LA 71201.
The restaurant is open for lunch on Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and for dinner on Tuesday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Friday & Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Warehouse No. 1 is closed on Sunday and Monday.
